Hongpailou Business District
Hongpailou Business District, with a planned area of 18.19 km2, encompasses an area outside the 1st Ring Road and inside the 3rd Ring Road, and extends to Wuhou-Qingyang boundary in the north and Wuhou-Gaoxin boundary in the south. It has jurisdiction over six Street Neighborhood Offices, including those of Hongpailou, Jinyang, Shuangnan, Cujin, Jitouqiao, and Huaxing. As one of Chengdu’s six major business circles to be forged, Hongpailou Business District aims to incorporate modern trade and business industries and emerging real estate industry. Chengdu Metro Line 3 joins Lines 7 and 10 at Hongpailou, making the area an important metro junction.
A crowd of high-end, emerging or large-scale commercial projects such as Ito Yokado, Longhu Jinnan Paradise, Tianhong Shopping Mall, Topspring Plaza, Southwest Logistics A-Space, Longfor Jinnan Paradise Walk and COFCO Joy City have accumulated in the area and they total more than 1.4 million m2 in commercial space. Centering around Hongpailou and Jinyang, the Hongpailou Business District has planned commercial space of over 4 million m2. The objective is to become Chengdu’s largest and a highly-concentrated “Trade Center” that serves Sichuan province and radiates to central and west China by developing modern commercial circulation, urban high-end logistics and emerging real estate sectors, which should serve to attract distinguished brands of shopping malls and department stores from home and abroad. The district will also strive to improve its commercial industries by leveraging on the renovation of the old Chuanzang Road and 18 professional markets as breakthroughs. Its advantage as a metro hub will allow the district to experiment with a scalable, multi-functional and integrated commercial development model and build an influential business district that can fulfill the needs of midwestern Chinese cities.
